Hello dear reader,
I can hardly believe I’m writing this blog post today. After months of late nights, countless cups of tea, scribbled notes on paper scraps, and rewriting chapters until my laptop almost gave up on me, my book When the Sky Split Open is finally here.
It’s now live on my blog store and Amazon Kindle, which still feels surreal to type out. This is not just a announcement post, but also my way of sharing my process with you… the laughter, the tears, the doubts, and the tiny sparks of hope that kept me going along the way.

The Spark That Started It All
All books begin as a whisper. Mine started with a question:
What if the world we understand ripped asunder, not in fire or combat, but with something stranger, like something that opened up the secrets we’re not meant to see?
That concept kept me awake on a humid night. I saw a city stuck between ordinary chaos and the bizarre. Characters began to take shape… people who looked like you and me, but who were going to have to make unthinkable choices. Next thing I knew, When the Sky Split Open had taken root.
Writing in the Middle of Everything
The journey wasn’t glamorous. There were mornings I stared at the screen, wondering if my words would ever make sense. There were nights when self-doubt shouted louder than the voices in my head.
But here’s the truth: stories matter. They shape us, remind us, and bind us. That belief carried me through.
When I finally wrote “The End,” it didn’t seem like an ending at all. It felt more like the beginning of a bigger dialogue with you.
What the Book Is About
When the Sky Split Open is a novella that blends the ordinary with the surreal. It asks:
What do we hold on to when reality rips open?
How far would we go to rescue the people we love?
And what happens when the lines between myth and reality are blurred?
It’s a mix of suspense, surrealism, and a pinch of African magic. I wanted to craft something that gets your pulse racing, yet also leaves you thinking long after you’ve closed the book.
Publishing the Dream
I would dream for years about holding my own book in my hands. Yet dreaming is one thing, publishing another.
I took the leap and had When the Sky Split Open ready both on my blog (with Paystack integration for easy access here in Nigeria and abroad) and on Amazon Kindle (for my readers abroad).
It wasn’t about just releasing the book; it was about getting it virtually into your hands, wherever you are, in whichever way you’re most comfortable.
Why This Book Means So Much to Me (and Hopefully to You)

This isn’t fiction. It’s a mirror.
Within its strange events and indelible characters, I wove questions of memory, identity, and survival. Questions that I know wrestle many of us every day.
It’s also a celebration of storytelling itself. The way that we, Africans, carry history in our voices, our songs, our names. That rhythm beats through the pages of this book.
To My Readers (Yes, You!)
If you’ve read one of my blog tales, commented on it, or just followed along silently—thank you. Seriously. I never would have had the courage to publish this tale out into the world without you.
This book is for you—the ones who stay curious, who crave tales that get your heart racing and your imagination flowing.

Writing When the Sky Split Open was a leap of faith. Publishing it was a step into the unknown. And now, sharing it with you is the most rewarding part of all.
