There has been much debate —and, honestly, conspiracy — over the question of what life is and how it began. Some speak of the Big Bang Theory, among other scientific explanations. Others cling to a much more rigid attitude regarding creation beliefs, the old stories that have been handed down through generations. While we may not all agree on where life got started, one thing is absolutely clear: life is a mystery. A very, very big mystery. A confusing, yet beautiful, heartbreaking, awe-inspiring mystery.

For myself, I consider life a maze.
Yes, a maze. It is not a straight road, not a clear staircase, not even a ladder. A maze. Think about it; a maze has double turns with paths promising to go nowhere and times to stop, think, and go back. Not easy. Not always fun. But every footfall, right or wrong, is part of that journey.
Life is a maze-always being twisty turns, dead ends, and so full of surprises and sometimes, us, those who are well assured of our route, assume that we have found the correct direction on finding a wall and get back, not just backwards though, but really to the initial point. Whatever you choose determines where you arrive. Although it is mind-bending and full of challenges that can make you weary with frustration, you will finally achieve your dreams, ambitions, and destiny if you choose not to give up. Read the poem below for a creative emphasis of what life is.
Life Is a Maze… and You’re Right at the Centre
Have you ever felt that you are marching forward with your head held high, thinking, “Yes! This is it! I have found my way”! … But ending up on dead-end trips many times is painful. At times, it makes you want to quit the whole affair. But here’s what I’ve understood: dead ends don’t mean failure; they only require a different path.
The matter of fact is that you are not alone in this maze—the rest of us are trying to puzzle it all out for ourselves. The “perfectly put together” person? Still trying to figure it out. The ‘friend’ who is miles ahead of you on the road? Bumping into walls of his own.
That is what separates the ones who tough it out to the end from those who stop. All make a pause, a cry, and a frustration, and each of them stops behind that. They wander and keep moving, and somewhere down the line, they will find a way—because there is a way.
Here’s a poem I wrote to express artfully the feeling of life at times:
Life is a maze and enclosed in the maze is you trying to find your way in the mind-bending maze. You wander and wander in the maze trying to find a way. filled with weariness are you yet hiding that with a smile The smile's not that of victory but a smile of dashed hope as that way you find leads directly to the wall Yet filled with joy are you trying to put life to provocation adamant to be sad for what life's put you through but Feeling happy that soon you'll find the correct way that life has hidden from you because in your wandering, you'll find the way because the way's right in the maze.

What I think life is
I am sharing something quite personal with you. My life has not been a perfect reality. Of course, I have a lovely crowd around me — people I can call loved ones, supporters, and cheerleaders in my life — but that has never stopped me from having some struggles. For most of them, I had to learn to do things on my own.
And that teaches me no one else has lived my story. No one else has walked in those shoes as I felt those fears; no person celebrated those small victories as I wrestled thoughts at 2 a.m.
My life is mine. My way is unique. Hence, I accept both my flaws and my strengths. For those flaws? They have shown me resilience. Those strengths? They remind me I’m capable.
Then, if I fix my gaze on the cause, clearly identify it and stay focused on it, then life becomes a maze less confounding. It doesn’t mean it becomes easy, but at least it eliminates a walking bout of aimlessness. There will always be intentional walking.
So if, like me, you’re still figuring things out and how to find your way through this maze, hang around. I’ve secured a safe community where we can share stories, uplift one another, and grow together. Join us by clicking below:

What does life mean to you?
What do you think life is? I, for one, think it is not an A-B clear-cut road. It is more of a map that slowly unfolds as you walk through. No one knows what comes next most of the time, but the further one goes, new discoveries arise.
There are setbacks where you feel like the cosmos is conspiring against you. There are delays where it feels like nothing is moving in life. Then there are surprises, where some unexpected doors suddenly open. All of these form a maze.
Oftentimes, you look at someone further along, at times even closer to the end, and you wish you were them. You wonder, “How did they figure it out?” But their maze is different from yours. Some take shortcuts along the way; others take the long route. Some hit walls early; some hit walls later. But everyone goes through something.
The goal of the maze is not a race. It is walking the course with courage: learning, growing, and choosing hope time after time, even when fatigued.
So, what does life mean to you? Give it some thought. Write it down if you like, and put your answer in the comments; I would love to hear from you. Perhaps your understanding of life might inspire someone on their own path, too.
