This poem is an explanation of what it is like to be living with emotional baggage — the kind that can’t always be seen. It explains how writing can liberate and also chain, but also suggests that hope and healing originate from connection — from leaning on others when your own isn’t enough.
You may feel trapped within yourself, but you’re not alone — and it’s okay to ask for help. As the child who giggles at school but cries into their pillow every night, drowning under the weight of unspoken expectations they’re too scared to say.
Or the mother who adores her children so dearly but is losing pieces of herself incrementally, too scared to speak about her exhaustion because it makes her feel vulnerable. The man who’s always the “strong one” for everyone else but is quietly breaking inside, unsure if anyone would even listen if he said, “I’m not okay.”
The teen who scrolls through social media, comparing their life to the curated perfection of others, slowly shrinking into self-doubt. The poet who opens up their heart in poems and captions, hoping someone will read between lines and see the agony beneath the graceful words.
The person who guffaws the loudest in a crowd yet comes back home to an oppressive silence, wondering if anyone truly looks at them.
In all these scenarios, there’s one unspoken thread — the fear of being vulnerable, of being a burden. But the truth is: you’re not a burden. You’re a human being. And help is not just available — it’s meant for you, too. So when you get that knot forming in your chest or the thoughts clogging in your mind — recall this: You are not alone. Your voice counts. And healing oftentimes begins the very moment you choose to call out.
Read the poem below for solace:
In the depths of my being, a tangled ball of strings resides,
A knot in my chest, constricting, where hope subsides.
Breathless and motionless, trapped within my own frame,
A prisoner to my thoughts, a captive in this endless game.
Emptiness surrounds me, a void that engulfs my soul,
Teetering on the edge, emotions ready to overflow.
These words, my refuge, a temporary escape,
Yet they also confine me, like a bird in a gilded cage.
But amidst the darkness, a glimmer of light I seek,
A path to untangle these knots, to find the strength I keep.
I'll reach out for support, to those who lend an ear,
For together we can navigate through the fog and fear.

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something that I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and extremely broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
